Aviation English is known worldwide for its specific terminology, phraseology, phonetic alphabet, and universal jargon, which we have most likely heard in movies or on a plane. It is actually much more complicated. While much of the language is technical, operational command of English is required to convey critical messages as clearly, quickly, precisely, and naturally as possible, especially in an emergency. A standard language for pilots and air traffic controllers to communicate enables them to share information and improve situational awareness through monitoring air traffic transmissions.
